[JMP Live] Issue with Label Variables Checkbox Being Unchecked in PCA Chart Upload

DJ_Kim
Level I

When uploading a PCA chart created in JMP Pro to JMP Live, the "Label Variables" checkbox is unchecked in the posted version, as shown in the image. (It is also disabled, so it cannot be rechecked.)

Could you please clarify the cause of this issue?

I am having a great experience in Berlin and taking away many valuable insights.

Re: [JMP Live] Issue with Label Variables Checkbox Being Unchecked in PCA Chart Upload

Hi @DJ_Kim,

I've just attempted to recreate your dashboard in JMP Live - if I have the label variables enabled before publishing it will appear with the labels on the report. Currently, you can't check the label variables option in JMP Live, I would suggest you add a request to the JMP Wish List to ask for this to be added.

Hope this helps,

Ben

Re: [JMP Live] Issue with Label Variables Checkbox Being Unchecked in PCA Chart Upload

Hi @DJ_Kim ,

I've done a deeper dive on this after some discussions with colleagues - the issue that appears is because you have >30 variables, so the PCA platform is automatically disabling the labelling of variables. This is shown in this help section:

"The loading plot labels variables if the number of variables is 30 or fewer. If there are more than 30 variables, the labels are off by default"

Because this can't be toggled in JMP Live at the moment, you can't activate the labels. A good option to bring to Wish List potentially if you see it as valuable.

Thanks!

Ben
