Issue processing DoE data

Hi,

I'm a relatively new user to JMP pro, but have been using it as a very useful tool for my PhD research.

Recently I have been truing to optimize a process doing a RSM using the JMP pro Easy DoE tool. I have generated a table of experiments it designed and collected the data from them, unfortunately the original DoE was lost so I could not input the data directly in the Easy DoE program.

I have been trying to import the data I've collected so I can process it using JMP pro software, unfortunately I cannot seem to find a way to import the data table and to process the data and get the optimum conditions. Anytime I generate a new DoE design with the same factors and ranges, the experiments it says to do are different to the original ones I generated.

My question is therefore, is there a way to modify the experiment design using the easy DoE, so I can replicate the original file I lost.

If not is there a way to import a excel data table with all the results, and process it in the same way I would process an RSM design using the easy DoE tool.

I appreciate any help with this!

Re: Issue processing DoE data

Hello,

The Load Design feature in Easy DOE allows you to load a data table and continue analyzing the experiment in Easy DOE.

If you have the results in a JMP data table, you can do the following.

  1. Open your data table containing the results
  2. Launch Easy DOE. If your experiment had more than one response, please add the correct number of responses at this time.
  3. Click the red triangle menu for the Factor Table and select Load Design.

  4. Select your factors and click OK. You do not need to select the response(s), as you will enter these on the Data Entry tab.

This will import your design and take you to the Design tab. If you've already run your experiment and have the results ready, you can proceed to the Data Entry tab and use the Load Responses button to import the data for the response(s). You can also type in the results manually.

If you do not have the original results saved in a JMP data table, you can import an Excel file with the results into JMP using File > Open and navigating to the Excel file.

Since you mentioned using an RSM, after you open the Excel file in JMP, you'll want to add a Model table script with a response surface model. You can do this by completing the following steps.

  1. Open the Excel file in JMP using File > Open
  2. Launch Analyze > Fit Model
  3. Select the response(s) from your experiment and click "Y"
  4. Select the factors from your experiment
  5. Click Macros > Response Surface
  6. Click the red triangle menu for Model Specification and select "Save to Data Table"

This will allow Load Design to recognize you were using a response surface model.

Hope this helps!
