How do I sum multiple columns using the formula window?

I have a table with many columns and would like to easily sum a block of them (columns 50-100) in another column.  What is the best way to do so without making a formula: column50 + column51 + column52.... ?

I did find a similar question from 2015 showing you can shift+click to select many columns using the "Sum" function (https://community.jmp.com/t5/Discussions/How-do-I-sum-multiple-columns-using-the-formula-window/td-p...) but this did not work for me.  Instead, it would only insert the first column that was selected.  Not certain if it's because I'm on a Mac?

Re: How do I sum multiple columns using the formula window?

At least on windows you can right click on the selected columns and select "Replace the selected subexpresssion with columns" (make sure the correct "square" is selected in the formula).

Edit:

You can also select your columns from the table, right click on one of the column headers and add formula column
