I have attached the slides Tom Skelskey from INEOS Composites went through for a project related to a Max Diff study to develop the utility function for a visual rating system. He then correlated the utility function to the results on the same parts using a Surface analyzer to understand which wavelengths from the deflectometer correlated best with the parts evaluated by the judging panel.
