A Graphical Approach to Designing Studies: The One Cool Tool You’re Not Using
Monday, October 19, 2026
Holiday Ballroom 2
This workshop introduces a graphical tool for designing studies in JMP that helps you build complex models visually. We review concepts such as what a model is, why crossing and nesting matter, and when fixed versus random effects are appropriate. Through three practical case studies – a pharmaceutical method validation, a manufacturing gauge study, and a process characterization example – learn how to design experiments that allow you to study complex, real‑world problems. Despite its name, the MSA Design platform is useful far beyond traditional measurement systems analysis and can be applied to a wide range of problems where multiple sources of variation must be handled correctly. Workshops are included in the price of your conference registration. Space is limited, so these sessions must be selected during your conference registration to confirm your participation.

The Story in Your Data: Effective Data Visualization
Monday, October 19, 2026
Holiday Ballroom 3
Every data set tells a story, and effective visualization helps bring that story to life. This hands-on workshop covers practical principles for effective data visualization, with examples drawn from common scientific and engineering scenarios. Participants learn how thoughtful graph choices can reveal patterns, expose problems, and communicate results more effectively. Along the way, we highlight techniques and presets that can significantly improve speed, consistency, and clarity when working with real data. Workshops are included in the price of your conference registration. Space is limited, so these sessions must be selected during your conference registration to confirm your participation.

Which Model When?: A Guide to Knowing Your Options
Monday, October 19, 2026
Holiday Ballroom 1
Choosing a statistical model can feel overwhelming, especially when multiple options appear to “work.” This workshop provides a practical framework for selecting models based on the structure of your data, the question you’re trying to answer, and the decisions you need to make. Through applied examples, we compare common modeling approaches, discuss tradeoffs and assumptions, and focus on interpretation and communication – not just mathematical details. The goal is to help you feel more confident and intentional when modeling real-world data. We cover many model classes, including the JMP and JMP Pro options available from Fit Model, as well as those from the Predictive Modeling, Specialized Modeling, Screening, Multivariate Methods, and Clustering menus. Workshops are included in the price of your conference registration. Space is limited, so these sessions must be selected during your conference registration to confirm your participation. Please note: This workshop primarily uses JMP but shows some (minimal) JMP Pro features. We can provide access to a virtual lab to use on your laptop if you want to try these features but don’t have JMP Pro installed at the time of the workshop.

How Much Data Do You Really Need? Understanding Sample Size and Power
Monday, October 19, 2026
Holiday Ballroom 2
Choosing sample size is ultimately a risk management decision, but many practitioners rely on guesswork or rules of thumb. This workshop demystifies sample size and power by breaking calculations into their core components: uncertainty, effect size, risk tolerance, and decision goals. Learn practical strategies for determining inputs, setting acceptable risk, and evaluating tradeoffs across a variety of common testing scenarios. See how these ideas extend beyond simple hypothesis tests to experimental design, including the Power Analysis and Design and Anticipated Responses section of Custom Design. Workshops are included in the price of your conference registration. Space is limited, so these sessions must be selected during your conference registration to confirm your participation.

Bayesian Optimization or Traditional Design of Experiments? Finding the Best Path to Insight
Monday, October 19, 2026
Holiday Ballroom 3
Not all experimental challenges call for the same approach. Some benefit from broad exploration, others from careful refinement, and some from a mix of both. In this hands‑on workshop, participants learn how to choose experimental strategies that fit their goals, constraints, and stage of learning. Using practical examples, we explore how considerations like learning versus optimization, resource limitations, and opportunities for sequential experimentation influence strategy selection. Along the way, we also highlight how traditional design of experiments and Bayesian optimization complement one another, and how these methods can be used together to efficiently solve real‑world experimental problems. Workshops are included in the price of your conference registration. Space is limited, so these sessions must be selected during your conference registration to confirm your participation. Please note: This workshop uses traditional DOE tools available in JMP, as well as Bayesian Optimization in JMP Pro. We can provide access to a virtual lab to use on your laptop if you want to try this feature but don’t have JMP Pro installed at the time of the workshop.

Work Smarter in JMP: Customization, Shortcuts, and Everyday Efficiency Gains
Monday, October 19, 2026
Holiday Ballroom 1
Many analysts spend more time than necessary repeating common tasks or navigating the interface instead of focusing on insights. This workshop highlights practical ways to streamline your day‑to‑day work by customizing JMP to fit how you analyze data. Topics include platform presets, preferences, custom menus and toolbars, and powerful table operations for data manipulation and cleanup. Participants gain immediately usable tips that reduce friction, save time, and make JMP feel more personal and efficient. Workshops are included in the price of your conference registration. Space is limited, so these sessions must be selected during your conference registration to confirm your participation.
