In biostatistics, survival analysis is a collection of statistical methods for analyzing the time it takes for some event of interest to occur (i.e., time-to-event data). For example, a study of disease progression might assess time to patient mortality or recovery. Survival analysis helps researchers understand how the probability of a biological or medical event changes over time and how that probability is affected by other factors.

This webinar is intended for academic researchers seeking an introduction to or refresher on survival analysis techniques and their implementation in JMP Student Edition, a no-cost, full-featured version of JMP software for academic use. Topics include:

  • Kaplan-Meier (nonparametric) survival analysis

  • Proportional hazards models
  • Fitting probability distributions to survival data

  • Parametric survival models
