In this simulated pharmaceutical process emergency case study, see how teams to get alerts from JMP Live and, even in a remote location where they have VPN access ability, identify the root cause of the problem, put in place actions to address the problem, and share them with their team based on JMP Live authorizations.
We have given you access to the case study area of our instance of JMP Live. Download the attached journal (Mastering JMP - JMP Live 240805 1.jrn) and click the Go to JMP Live Dashboards button.
See how to:
- Receive signals that process is out of specification or control
- Interactively investigate the problem data using Control Chart Builder and Profiler reports and determine root cause
- Interact with JMP Live
- Publish reports
- Publish/add new data
- Update data
- Refresh data automatically
JMP Live Case Study Process
Questions answered by Byron Wingerd @Byron_JMP , Mike Anderson @MikeD_Anderson and Aurora Tiffany-Davis @Aurora_TiffanyD at the live webinar.
Q: Is there an easy way to restrict access to JMP Live?
A: Your copy of JMP Live is managed by your Site Administrator. It is configurable to include Spaces. Generally, within a company, the Administrator assigns privileges to each Space, including to people who can create and manage Spaces. Individuals can see only what they have permission to see, and edit only what they have permission to edit. Your Administration can also give certain Users the ability to create and manage a space. All the details are available.
Q: Is this just basically HTML or Interactive HTML?
A: JMP Live gives you more than exporting to HTML reports, which are static. JMP Live does use HTML as the main delivery structure for reports. However, it goes 2 or 3 levels of complexity and sophistication beyond HTML. In JMP Live, you get full analysis interactivity. For example, you can use column switcher because it regenerates the graph. If you apply a data filter, it goes back and recalculates everything and then regenerates the reports automatically. A JMP engine is running in the background. JMP Live also is more capable than saving reports as Interactive HTML with data, because the data can be updated automatically and integrated into a reporting system on JMP Live.
Q: Let's say that we have an AVEVA Solutions (formerly Wonderware) database accumulating process monitoring data and we want to query this data source to generate JMP tables for producing JMP Live reports. Referring to your diagram (showing the data source) can you trace how this data would work through the diagram using scheduled updates? Do these updates interrupt the HTML displays?
A: You are going to have some database historian (a Pi server or LIMS database, for example) that accumulates data. JMP will query that and the query will be stored in a PostgreSQL database that's in the JMP Live instance. JMP Live will make a direct copy of the data that is not editable . So, for pharmaceuticals, for example, you remain 21 CFR Part 11 compliant because your original data, your point of record, is somewhere else, not in JMP Live. JMP Live is working on a copy. After updates, reports refresh according to the schedule you determine.
Q: How do you set permissions?
A: The JMP Live Admin has full access. See an example below, which was recorded by one of the JMP Live Administrators for the JMP instance of JMP Live.
