Data visualization for process insight

JMP tries to make it easy to visualize your data. Two powerful analytical tools that allow you to gain insight into your data are the Distribution and Graph Builder platforms.

The attached video uses an example from a fictitious powder metallurgy process. The effect of process factors (such as screen size, compaction pressure, sintering time, and temperature) have an impact on three key performance metrics:  % shrinkage, porosity, and cost. Using the interactive nature of the Distribution and Graph Builder platforms (in particular, dynamic linking), the impact of the process factors are visualized easily, helping the scientist/engineer develop a feel for their process.

Lastly, after the initial graphical exploration, the Fit Model platform allows the user to fit a regression model to the data easily. With that model, JMP's Profiler platform can predict a sweet spot that allows compromises between important output responses.

The video below walks you through these details and provides a few tips and tricks along the way.
