JMP offers the option to show SPEC limits as Graph Reference Lines but is it possible to customize the properties of the line (i.e. line style and color)?

Currently, the script "Save Script to Data Table" isn't working to save simple variability charts, but it work's properly for graph builder. Currently, there is a solution to fix this, see save New Window scripts into data table, but it's too long as script application for a simple "Save". Is this possible to optimize so that the function "Save Script to Data Table" also works for the variability charts and add this optimization in the next version? Thanks, Michel

In a large table with hundreds of columns, I need to have more flexibility in grouping columns. I'd like to be able to have column subgroups (group hierarchies). (Would also be nice to have table script group hierarchies.)

Hi, when we use row editor we have the information on all columns for a line. Is it possible to configure the row editor only on certain columns and have the photo displayed with a good size if we have a column with photos ? best regards

It would be helpful to able to generate a correlation matrix using nonparametric methods through the Multivariate Analysis tools. The current matrix that appears by default uses the Pearson product-moment method. The display for nonparametric statistics is completely different, in a long pair-wise list of all combinations. (see graphic below) It would be nice to have a nicely formatted matrix for different correlation types. We shouldn't use Pearson correlation for everything, right? ;) It would be especially nice if other options, like correlation probability matrix, was also available for nonparametric methods. Perhaps the default correlation method could be listed on the main Multivariate interface (see graphic below).

I know it is possible to do bootstrapped CI in JMP. But, when we build and test complicated mediation model, the indirect effects need to be calculated and then a bootstrapped CI is needed to build on that indirect effect. I am sure some smart JMP user has figured it out. I hope that person may write a script or a step-by-step procedure for doing this in JMP. Otherwise JMP developers, please take a note of this wish list.

The structural equation model builder is fantastic. It would be nice, for academic journal publication, if we could choose to indicate which structural paths between latent factors are statistically significant. Either the traditional way by *** the parameter estimate on the line, or even like visually indicate it with (solid line = significant; dashed line = nonsignificant). Readers often want an easier way to visually take in this information, and the path diagram is one of the big advantages of SEM for reporting this type of information.

For a structured regression model with mediation in the SEM platform, can JMP compute the indirect effects and its standard errors (using normal theory or the delta method) and display as a table under Parameter Estimates? It will be super to show this also in the prediction profiler (if possible). Thanks

I know that, a while back, Jeff P, explained a longer work-around for this, but I think it would be great to have a GraphBuilder option in which Tukey's letters (to denote differences between plotted means) could be overlaid over columns/icons in the plot itself. Normally, I just paste the JMP plot into Adobe Illustrator and manually add them (see attached image), but this can be pretty time consuming for a complex figure. I could envision it as an option on the left side (near where you define error terms and things of that nature). I guess you would need to somehow define the treatment you are interested in, which may be incompatible with certain graphics, so I can kind of see why this may not currently exist (i.e., there are soooo many plots that could be generated, only a fraction of which would make sense to use with Tukey's letters over the data points).

Unlike nearly all other JMP analytical platforms, you cannot "save script to data table" for any model built under the Consumer research-categorical platform. I would think this would be easy to implement and would benefit me (and hopefully others) greatly!

A great feature that I sometimes use in another program is the ability to import a jpeg, png or other image format of an existing graph and extract the data in the graph into a data table for analysis. This is especially useful for graphs with complex axis, poor readability, or large data density. It is not perfect, but it is a great way to get a little more accuracy when reading data from a two axis plot. It would be nice to be able to set a scroll bar for text edit box directly without the workaround with the Scroll Box(). teb = text edit box("",set width(200),set nlines(15)); teb << Set Scrollers( h, v ); So when you enter more then 15 items you can scroll down.

I see Eval( Eval Expr( ... Expr( ) ) ) peppered throughout code, and once their separate functions is understood it is clear why they exist as separate functions. However, to anyone new to scripting it takes time to start using all three functions effectively. A new wrapper around Eval( Eval Expr( would reduce some perceived complexity. For example, a wrapper called 'Eval Expr First' might make this more clear: x = 2; Eval Expr First( New Table( "Untitled 5", Add Rows( 1 ), New Column( "Column 1", Numeric, "Continuous", Format( "Best", 12 ), Formula( Expr( x ) ) ) ) );

I often do random selections of a main table and take those selections, subset them and then combine them into a new table, often several times. If I am going to do this a bunch, i will script it so it iterates through the random selection/subsetting/concatenating, but I would like something so JMP automates that for me - and others who are less into scripting.

I would like to see the ability to select cells by their color, not value. This comes as I have learned of the imputation ability for missing values and JMP will color imputed cells the same color. If the window is closed and 'undo' is no longer available, it would be great to be able to select those cells by color to exclude/undo/etc. (another way would be to update imputation to make selection easier after the fact, but the suggestion I believe would have use beyond the noted use case).

I really like the graphlets in the MDMVCC platform, especially when going from the T2 on the principle components to the Diagnosis of the process plots. Based on some of the other subroutines in the multivariate platform, and combined with the score plot, I think it would be very helpful to have a parallel plot as a subroutine in the MDMVCC. This could very much help to see the connections between certain processes and how they might interact to lead to OOS or OOL processes. Just a thought. Thanks!, DS

I notice that one of the column properties is "units", which assume to mean things like "feet", "kilometers", etc. Is there a hidden feature that will allow the user to change the column to different units easily? E.g., if input data is in "feet", the user could right click the column header and see an option to change the units to "meters" and the column values would change? Also, if JMP could detect the units from the column header, e.g. len(m) = length in meters --> column header as "len" and units as "meters".

Can we have JMP implement Silhouette plots in cluster analysis platform? Silhouette plots (Rousseeuw (1987)) are useful in many phases of cluster analysis: visualization, validation and choosing optimal number of clusters. The Silhouette value represents a measure of internal cohesion and external isolation and can be used in any of the clustering routines available in JMP cluster analysis: 1) hierarchical; 2) nonhierarchical – k-means cluster; and 3) latent class analysis once cluster assignment is made. With JMP's focus on visualization, it will be a useful addition to existing tools in cluster analysis.

I want to have percentile-based whiskers in Graph Builder - box plot. This also applies to box plots on Distribution platform. JMP's box plot does not allow the user to specify the location (length) of whiskers and only offer "Tukey" method. (Oddly this is not described in JMP's help page on Graph Builder - Box Plot, but it is in JMP Clinical's page below.) https://www.jmp.com/support/downloads/JMPC71_documentation/Content/JMPCUserGuide/GR_C_0003.htm It doesn't serve my purpose because my data contains dirty outliers and Tukey whiskers, with or without dots for outliers, draw attention to these extreme values. Instead, I draw box plots with whiskers at 10 and 90 percentiles, 5 and 95, 2.5 and 97.5, 1 and 99, etc. For this purpose I use some other app, like Graphpad Prism. I believe we need to update the way we use box plots as it doesn't seem to go extinct in near future even with new and richer graph types available, partly because its elements correspond to important summary statistics.
