Table Subset

Hello,

It would be helpful to add an option to the Tables -> Subset dialog to allow a user to include the row #s of the original dataset that are included in the subset.

Regards

Mehul Shroff

@MShroff you can select the rows in the data table and select "Selected Rows" to subset.

Hi @mia_stephens

I'm aware of the functionality to subset selected rows but my request is different. I want the option to add a column listing the row #s from the original table when generating a subset (regardless of which subset option is chosen). Thanks.

Hi @hogi , I understand, thank you. I'm not sure of the problem you are trying to solve, but if it is to retain a history of the selected rows, have you tried working with Row States? https://www.jmp.com/support/help/en/18.0/index.shtml#page/jmp/store-information-in-row-state-columns...

Hi @mia_stephens  .

When I understand  @MShroff  correctly, the ides is

If the subset includes rows 10, 17 and 20 then in the subset there should be a new column with values 10, 17 and 20 after generation of the subset.

If so, the user could add a new formula column with row() , maybe remove the formula and then generate the subset.

Maybe via a shortcut icon  in a toolbar?

Slightly related to your info, there is another wish with significant potential for improvement :
