What inspired this wish list request?
At the moment, when using the generic function of the units, round brackets are used for identification. In science and technology, at least in Europe, the square bracket is actually known as a clear convention for marking units.
What is the improvement you would like to see?
Way to choose between the bracket style for units by option.
Why is this idea important?
Fulfill accepted conventions. Improve the way to transport information's and increase the comprehensibility.
