What inspired this wish list request? In my work I paste large amounts of data from excel into an existing JMP file, and I sometime receive this error: "Data types of destination columns and source columns are different" due to a conflict in format between Excel and JMP. It is an easy but time-consuming fix, because I have to track down which specific column is causing the error.
What is the improvement you would like to see? In the JMP error, it would be nice to see the name of the destination column(s) which are triggering the alert, so I can change the data type of the column if needed.
Why is this idea important? This idea would help save time when aggregating data, and would solve users' problems of having to through their worksheet column-by-column in order to find the cause of the error.
