What inspired this wish list request?
My Version: JMP18.0
If you do calculations in a data sheet after having fetched the data from the database, the formula editor may be used. However, it is not possible to attach/include physical units to the numbers and elements in the formula editor, respectively.
What is the improvement you would like to see?
It would be a good way to make the formulas (especially for more complicated versions) more comprehensible. The physical unit could be directly visualized by including it as a text within the formula editor or by making a hoverlabel showing the physical unit when resting the mouse over the element.

Why is this idea important?
This idea is important mainly for two reasons:
1) Better readability of formula, because the physical meaning is delivered by the units only
2) Proof-reading is supported. This includes testing by oneself, but is especially important if data tables and sheets are used AND modified by more than one person.
