What inspired this wish list request?
I am co-managing the number of JMP licenses that we allocate to our company users. Year to year, we need to understand which users have a need to continue using the tool for the next year. Obviously, our goal is to effectively manage all licenses by allocating them to the "active" needs. Emailing questions and dissecting answers for 100s' of users is not a simple task. This idea would automate all information to a log file that we could analyze towards the end of the year to determine who are actively using JMP ?
What is the improvement you would like to see?
We like to get a way to track the timestamp of each JMP session launch and exit. That could perhaps be done by some company internal ability OR by my.jmp.com. At the very least, this info should include timestamp, user id (email, SSO etc..) and JMP version (e.g. JMP 19 Pro.. )
Why is this idea important?
It is important to get the most our of available licenses for our business. A capability like this would also prove back to our leadership that we do care about cost/benefit when it comes to advanced statistical modeling tools. If I was a leader making software purchase decisions, a capability like this would likely leave a serious impression w/ me.
