We consider several factors when looking for what ideas to add to JMP. This includes what will have the greatest benefit to our customers based on scope, needs and current resources. Product ideas help us decide what features to work on next. Additionally, we often look to ideas for inspiration on how to add value to developments already in our pipeline or enhancements to new or existing features.

In fit model platform normal quantile plot, provide easy access to Shapiro-Wilk test

JMP 14 added the ability to display a normal quantile plot for residuals within the fit model platform. This is a nice feature in JMP 14, allowing users to save time when evaluating normalcy of residuals (avoiding the need to save residuals to the data table, and to do Analyze > Distribution in order to get a normal quantile plot). To extend this capability further in future JMP versions, please consider equipping the fit model platform with red triangle options to fit a normal curve to residuals, and to generate a Shapiro-Wilk test result.
