How can I select on which day of the week the weekly increment on a datetime axis will begin?

When I do a bivariate fit to plot data by datetime and set increment at 1 week, I want the major gridlines  and the labels to always appear at each Friday. At present the software seems to randomly choose ....sometimes the markings appear at each Monday, sometimes each Tuesday ...etc

can something be added to 'Preferences' so that the user can set his/her choice
