Desirability Surface Profiler

What inspired this wish list request? 

I want to be able to see a Surface Profiler for the Desirability function vs. my X input factors.  Currently, JMP only supports the 2D Profiler for Desirability.  To see the Desirability surface today, I have to save the Y prediction formulas and the desirability formula to the data table, and then make a profiler with the Desirability formula and expand the intermediate formulas.          

 

What is the improvement you would like to see? 

See and explore the Desirability function in all its 3D glory!

 

Why is this idea important? 

Easily & interactively visualize multiple responses and their trade-offs in a single streamlined 3D surface plot for teammates and stakeholders.

Great Idea! The surface plots in JMP are really great learning tools and definitely help me understand my system. Seeing it as a profiler would be a great addition.

Agreed--being able to see the correlations between two factors at a time would unlock faster assessment than the current system. As it is, I either have to use a lot of clicking/dragging (or use traces that can get pretty messy) to get ideas of how combinations of variables affect desirability. And to add on--I especially like the idea of being able to leverage the surface plot's ability to quickly switch between different x/y factors. I think it's a great and intuitive way to see where desirability 'cliffs' might be lurking, and one that my stakeholders can more easily understand.
