Summary
The Marketplace already provides a PostgreSQL Data Connector that allows users to connect directly to PostgreSQL databases, execute SQL queries, and import data into JMP without relying on ODBC. [marketplace.jmp.com]
I would like to request a similar connector for Amazon Redshift.
Why This Matters
Amazon Redshift is widely used as an enterprise cloud data warehouse for analytics, reporting, data science, and business intelligence workloads.
Many JMP users work with data that is already stored in Redshift. Direct connectivity would eliminate manual exports and simplify data access workflows.
Desired Capabilities
Native Redshift Connection
- Host
- Port
- Database
- User
- Password
- Optional IAM authentication
SQL Execution
The PostgreSQL connector supports custom SQL queries, and the same capability would be highly valuable for Redshift users. [marketplace.jmp.com]
Large Dataset Support
The PostgreSQL connector includes support for processing larger datasets through chunking mechanisms. Similar support for Redshift would be beneficial when working with analytical datasets. [marketplace.jmp.com]
JSL Integration
Support for JSL workflows similar
Enterprise Authentication
Support for:
- AWS IAM
- Single Sign-On (SSO)
- Federated Identity Providers
Benefits
- Reduced dependence on ODBC configuration
- Easier deployment and maintenance
- Better portability of JMP workflows
- Simpler access to cloud-based analytical data
- Consistency with existing Marketplace database connectors
Thank you for considering this enhancement.
