1st and 2nd derivative of a spectra

Hello,

using e.g. the PLS procedure, one can replace costly and time consuming analytical methods with quick and "easy" measurements of spectral data. While building a PLS, model it is sometimes necessary and/ or mandatory/ helpful to calculate the 1st or even 2nd derivative of the sprectral "curve". Having this feature available with one klick would be great and make a file transfer via e.g. ~csv to other tools unnecessary.

At least a linear approach getting the 1st derivative was feasible for me, but required some intermediate tables and calculations. It would be great getting into a conversation about this with a developer (by WebEx or so) and getting this feature available in JMP17.

Best Wishes

Egon
