slow JMP

Why does JMP get slow when a large data table is open?
e.g. a data table with many images.

Why is there such a huge lag when I open the Column Info menu or do some other editing of "meta" data?
Is there some constant "analysis" of the data table in the background?

Maybe the same issue which we experience in a data filter ...
TS-00263029 ?

When the system is so slow that typing doesn't work anymore  - when you have to press a key 5 times to get it "typed".
When the user needs to type the text in another program and copy + paste it into an Edit Box in JMP.

What is the difference between "typing" a key and pasting a String (via CTRL+V)?
Why does CTRL+V still work when typing doesn't?

Ah, 2 separate issues.

The issue here was not caused by the large data table, but: 
a stuck script that was still running in the background

EEEEEEEEEEESC fixed the issue.

@hogi The filter issue reported in TS-00263029 should be improved in the upcoming JMP 19.1 release.  As is often the case, it's not one issue that affects performance, but we need to investigate and improve each operation (Invert Selection, typing in filter field, Saving a Script).  Thanks for reporting the issues you find with processing of large data!
