Set K sigma for the control limits in the control charts

Hello everyone,

I hope you are doing well.

I have JMP version 5 and I have to build control charts with 4.5 or 5 sigma.

How can I set the number of sigma to compute the control limits with a JMP script?

Thank you very much and have a nice day,

Jean

I recommend performing this task interactively first, then save the script from the platform menu.

I do not have JMP version 5. I can't remember the menus or launch dialogs, which have changed much in the next 12 versions. Open your data table. Then select either Analyze or Graph menu and look for Control Charts. I think there is a sub-menu for the different types of charts. Select XmR or Individuals and Moving Range. The dialog should look something like this one:

Notice the number edit box in the lower left corner where you can change the default value of 3 for K Sigma.

Re: Set K sigma for the control limits in the control charts

Hello Jean,
Just curious: Why would you want, or feel justified, to build a control chart with limits based on a multiple of 4.5 or 5 for the sigma value?
Thanks, scott.
