Sample size calculation for a new lot of materials

Hi,

I'm looking to qualify new lot of the controls for an assay and was wondering what the best way is to accomplish in JMP (or to determine the sample size/number of experiments) in JMP.

Basically you have two options :

  1. Either use the calculator "Sample Size for Confidence Interval" available in "Help", "Sample Index",
  2. Or use one of the Sample Size Explorers, available in "DoE", "Sample size Explorers". Depending on your precise objective, you may find one relevant for your needs.

 

If you would like further guidance and more in-depth response, it would be best if you can provide more informations about the context of your project : what do you want to assess relative to sample size : power, confidence intervals, reliability (conform response or defects rate), ... ? It may help other members to jump in the conversation and provide you more appropriate advices.
