Recommendations for data fitting

I am currently trying to derive an approximating equation for the projected area of a vehicle vs. 2 angles being alpha and beta. I have run a large number of cases in order to characterize the response, and have produced the 3D scatterplot as seen. There is a clear trend in this data, although trigonometric, however I am struggling to find the right tool to properly create an approximating model. I've attempted using the Neural Net feature, but with limited success. Does anyone have any recommendations as to the right approach to determine the approximating function? Thank you in advance for any advice!

Re: Recommendations for data fitting

HI @CSIHotMa,

have you already tried Gaussian Process Modeling (Kriging fits)?

Please find in this link a presentation which mentions it.

Sincerely,
