Proportional X-Axis Display Option?

While I understand the importance or proportional sizing of X-axes, there are times when this is not desired. In JMP 18, the option to turn off this feature is no longer available in Graph Builder or Fit Y by X platforms. Including X-Axis Proportional (0) as a script step also has not effect. Am I missing something here?

Re: Proportional X-Axis Display Option?

OK, I have discovered the only way to override the default setting (this is for mosaics BTW) is to place the X-variable in the 'Group X' field. Strange that the option is included in the settings but not modifiable.

Re: Proportional X-Axis Display Option?

Mosaic plot is a special case of stacked bar chart where you have the proportionality (Mosaic Plot). If you don't want that you can always use stacked bar chart. I'm not really fan of having proportionality enabled by default in Oneway but that is what we currently have and we can change that in preferences if we want to

Also I think contingency is supposed to create a mosaic plot -> no need for option to remove proportionality.

At least in some cases it is available

Re: Proportional X-Axis Display Option?

In Graph Builder - besides Mosaic Plot -  proportional scaling is disabled by default.
To enable it, use Size by count:

Mosaic Plot has a size by count setting as well - but surprisingly without effect:

Re: Proportional X-Axis Display Option?

To generate a Mosaic plot without a proportial x axis scaling, just use the bar chart, with the grouping column as Overlay
(Mosaic:  y axis)

Re: Proportional X-Axis Display Option?

And if you want to generate a "mosaic-like" graph (with proportional axis scaling)  graph, just enable Size by - Count
