Problem creating ridgeline plot

Hello, I've been trying to create a ridgeline plot based on the instructions of https://www.jmp.com/support/help/en/17.1/index.shtml#page/jmp/example-of-an-overlaid-histogram-and-r... , but when I follow the steps, I get a result like this:

I'm wondering what I need to do to fix it so that I can get my graph to look like this:

Version of JMP: JMP® Pro 17.0.0

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Problem creating ridgeline plot

The screen capture does not quite provide all of the information to know exactly what is going on, but here are a few things you can try.

First, does the Average Tusk Length variable have the continuous modeling type? It should have the "blue triangle" next to it on the columns panel.

Second, it looks like you drug the Period of Time variable to the y-axis as well as the Overlay area. It needs to go to the Overlay area only.

Check on these things and let us know if it works. If this does not work, then repost with a picture of the entire graph builder window (including the control panel area to the left of the graph and the graphing elements above the graph).
