Partial Least Squares Discriminant Analysis (PLS -DA) in JMP Pro Student edition

Hello!

I'm trying to build a classification model using spectral data. I've attempted to do PCA + LDA for such purpose, but unfortunately, I'm not seeing proper clustering in this case, hence, I've tried to do PLS-DA.

Is it possible to perform PLS-DA using the JMP Pro 18 Student edition? So far, I haven't found an option that allows me to consider categorical variables in my model (screenshot attached) so the output looks like standard PLS model, rather than a classification one.

If JMP Pro 18 has this feature, could you guide me briefly through its use?

Thanks in advance,

Mariana

Hi @Mariana_Aguilar ,

I've answered your other post with more detailed answers, but to point you in the right direction the PLS-DA guide is here

You can access PLS-DA through the 'Fit Model' platform, where you place a categorical variable in the Y, select PLS on the model personality and place your spectra column in the model effects.

Thanks,

Ben
