Leverage values

How do I calculate leverage values in JMP? Is there a way to get a column of the data?

Re: Leverage values

Hi @ProbitBat360 ,

The actual calculation of the leverages are somewhat complicated. You can follow the JMP online help here to perform the actual calculation as a column formula. It's also possible to save the leverage values as columns from the Fit Model platform and report window.

Using the Diabetes.jmp file as an example, if you click the Fit Model quick icon, select :Y for the response and :Age through :Glucose for the Model Effects. You can include the :Validation column for validation if you want. Choose Standard Least Squares for the "Personality" and Effect Leverage for "Emphasis". Once you've got the report window open, you can click the red hot-button next to Response Y and under Save Columns, select Effect Leverage Pairs. This will save the paired X and Y columns for the Effect leverages in your model.

If this is not what you want, and you want to actually do the calculation, you might look at the discussion here and write to the person at Predictum to get more information, or read through JMP's online help as mentioned at the start. Unfortunately, the podcast links in the above thread are not valid anymore.

Hope this helps,

DS
