Is there any tool or technique in JMP Pro that identifies a set of closely fitted distributions of the variables in a given dataset?

I am struggling to identify the closely fitted probability distributions of variables in a dataset. For example, in the “Diabetics” dataset, which is available on the Sample Data folder under JMP help menu, I am interested to see the closely fitted distribution of the following two variable:

Total Cholesterol (which is discrete dataset) closely fits with Negative Binomial distribution with parameters 36 (stopping, k) and 0.15990 (success probability, p)

BMI (which is a continuous dataset) closely fits with Weibull distribution with parameters 2.0635 (shape, ϒ), 9.8028 (scale, α and 17.6922 (threshold, µ)

Is there any technique in JMP Pro that identifies a set of closely fitted distributions of the variables in a given dataset?

Hi @madhu,

Did you check the Fit Distributions option in the Distributions platform ?
Clicking on the red triangle next to the variables you have selected previously in the launch dialog of this platform, you have the option to fit continuous and/or discrete distributions (and also to fit all and use the most relevant one).

When clicking on the red triangle next to the distributions you have fitted, you have the option to "Fix Parameters" to test the values you mentioned (example here with different values that the ones you proposed) :

Hope this answer will help you,
