How to match thecolor coding in the graph builder to the predefined color coding in the data table?

I'm comparing data from different sources and want to make sure the source shows clearly on every plot, so I have defined a color+marker for every source through the colors/markers menus accessible via the red triangle on the first (non data) column in the data table.

Now I use the graph bilder to visualize the data. As expected the data points in the graph have the color/marker I have defined in the data table. However, now I would like to have the information which color/marker refers to which source on the plot, so I drag the column with the source information on the "color" box of the graph builder. At that moment, all the data points in the plot change color/marker and a legend relating the color/marker to the source appears. The matchings is correct in so far that the legend entries correspond to the correct data points but they do not correspond any longer to the colors/markers I specified in the data table.

Is there a way to have the color/marker coding in the graph builder matching that in the datatable? (I'm not using scripts.)

I've added a small example demonstrating this.

I believe the key to solving your issue is to use the Value Colors column property.  If you set the Value Colors for a column and then drag that column to the "Color Drop Box" Graph Builder will use those colors, and not make up it's own color choices.  And from what I can see, Graph Builder will use the marker specified for a given row, as the marker on the graph.
