Go to

     File=>Preferences=>Platforms

There you will be able to set the preferences that will be used each time the platform is run.

Since JMP18, there is a shortcut available, via the red triange menu

a)  either to get to the right menu in the preference.

 

b) you do not even have to go there, just change the settings interactively and then select:
