Design of experiments is a time-tested method proven to improve products and processes. Science and the scientific method are also techniques that have shown some success in the past in helping us solve problems and build a fundamental understanding of the universe. While in theory both of these approaches are inseparable, in the real world, sometimes we may find that we overly focus on advanced DOE options and lose the connection with the underlying scientific theory. Dimensional analysis (DA) is a tool that can help reinforce the connection between DOE and the underlying science. In this breakout session, we will walk through some examples where DA helps with DOE design and analysis.
