The JSL Debugger will not launch.  JMP 11.2.0.

I get two Alerts:

"Time out encountered attempting to connect to the JSL Debugger GUI"

then

"An exception was generated while running the script."

These take many seconds to appear, like it has to search the whole drive or a server.

As noted in JSL Debugger Won't Launch, to resolve this issue you will need to contact your local IT staff to review and adjust your VPN and firewall settings to allow application access for JMP.exe to the host.  Specifying a set of ports in the settings is not sufficient, as a new set of ports is selected each time the JSL Debugger is launched.   Keep in mind that these settings may need to be updated in the future when a new version of JMP is installed.

Thank you for using JMP!

I'll make some guesses:

The JSL debugger is created with a second instance of JMP; the two instances communicate via a socket connection. Usually there is no problem creating a socket between two instance of JMP running on the same machine.  It sounds like the socket connection has timed out.  Do you have an unusual Windows firewall configuration?  Also try ALT-Tab to see if there is a hidden dialog asking a question.  Was it working in an earlier version of JMP?  Perhaps you had to permit JMP previous version in Windows firewall and need to permit the new version?

More info: Re: JSL Debugger Won't Launch, and try technical support if that doesn't work for you; the debugger is very useful.
