See new and improved data exploration and visualization capabilities introduced with JMP 16 Graph Builder. The capabilities are available on Mac and Windows.  View the demo for the operating system of your choice.

In this video, learn about:

  •  Changes to Graphing Preferences = top menu: JMP -> JMP Preferences -> Graphs.
    • Unselected Faded option for filled areas in Fill Selection Model
    • Several new JMP Preference for color themes

 

The following features are inside of Graph Builder = top menu: Graph -> Graph Builder.

  • Dynamic Formatting of Date and/or Time Axes
    • Axes with date and/or time will transform dynamically with interactive dragging to show the appropriate level of detail depending on the zoom level.
  • Axis Binning and Wrapping
    • Interactively bin date and/or time axes into Year, Month, Day, Hour, Seconds, etc. by dragging with the hand tool.  Once binned, wrapping by date and/or time increments to summarize across years, months, etc.
  • Label and Axis improvements in Graph Builder 
    • Right click on the Legend for new label access, including adding specific labels on lines.
  • There is a new density random jitter option for points to show the density of the data.
  • When using the  mapping capabilities:
    • There is now zoom in (+) and zoom out (-) controls on the map.
    • New "Show" submenu with options to show or hide axis labels, titles, legend, etc. under the red triangle
  • There is a new quick and easy to build run chart in Graph Builder by using the Row Order check box.
  • There is a new Cumulative Sum summary statistic for bars and lines.
  • Smoother lines have multiple types of methods, degrees, and additional controls for trimming, weighting, etc. In addition to the spline method, there is also Local Kernel, Savitzky-Golay, Moving Average, and Moving Box for smoother functions. 
  • There is now a way to wrap text for long category names on the axis.
