Conditional Data Filter for modeling type Multiple Response ?

A data filter looks slightly different if the modeling type of a column is "multiple response".
What indicated by the (disabled) "any"?

Please note that once a multi-response column is selected the option "conditional" gets disable.

why?

Re: Conditional Data Filter for modeling type Multiple Response ?

the multiple response option turns comma delimited lists of strings in a cell into individual levels.

In your case it looks like you have only two levels in the column being filtered, its either missing or "selected"

If you had levels that were, for example

cat, dog, bird

dog, bird, cat

bird, cat, dog

These would be read as three separate levels eventhoug all three contain the same three items

multiple response would see them as one level, each with the same items.

it has a pretty big impact on the way filters work

Re: Conditional Data Filter for modeling type Multiple Response ?

I still wonder why "conditional" is not available if a "multiple response" column is used as data filter. Due to complexity and therefore: speed issues?
But the user could decide if he wants it - and decide to wait a bit till the lists are updated.
Will this behavor change with jmp17?

Use case:
- "Label" is used (several times + / -) as a list of overlapping categories for a pre-selection

- "sample" is used to further drill down
