JMP and SAS Complement One Another to Produce a Virtual Laboratory
Brian McFarlane, Predictum Inc.; Wayne Levin, Predictum Inc.
This paper describes a system that combines the Scripting and DOE functionality of JMP with the powerful modeling capabilities of SAS to create a virtual lab. This new approach replaces the previous practice of one-factor-at-time physical experiments with a rigorous system of custom designed experiments that estimate responses using models built on years of empirical observations. The complementary use of JMP and SAS produces a productive system which has the potential for significant improvements in costs and reduced time to market for new products.
