Day‑to‑day success as engineers depends on our ability to communicate reports with sufficient fidelity to the original problem statement and the resulting insight. For more than 35 years, JMP has enabled us to express engineering knowledge through rich visual reports that are interactive with the underlying data. Historically, however, our collaborators cannot follow our path of discovery unless they are JMP users themselves.
This limitation creates two problems. First, we spend significant non‑value‑added time converting JMP reports into slide decks or exporting carefully curated data tables into stripped down formats. Second, natively interactive reports are reduced to static images, which removes collaborative value. These limitations are further amplified in organizations where the analysis workflow requires cross-functional hand-offs, reducing the return on investment of knowledge workers through inefficient (time loss) and ineffective (knowledge loss) collaboration.
JMP Live addresses both of these limitations by preserving context, intent, and interactivity in reports that can be shared globally with non-users. It serves as our defense against engineering understanding being “lost in translation” through serial hand-offs of critical workflow steps.
In this presentation, we share real‑world case studies of JMP Live delivering day‑to‑day value by keeping the entire reporting and knowledge‑sharing workflow within the engineer’s control. We tell the story of JMP Live's impact and the subsequent investment from the perspective of an engineer. We conclude with a practical JMP Live adoption roadmap – from pilot evaluation through initial deployment – including recommendations for building a total cost of ownership model aligned to business needs.
