From JMP to JMP Live: Deploying Automated Analytics Workflows (2026-US-30MP-2954)

Many JMP users use workflow automation to repeat analyses, often without writing code. These automated workflows save time, improve consistency, and help standardize data analysis processes across teams. Tools such as Query Builder and Workflow Builder make it easy to automate key steps in the analytics life cycle – particularly data acquisition and data preparation.

JMP Live extends these capabilities by allowing workflows to run on a schedule, automatically publishing refreshed data and reports to collaborators. However, moving an automated workflow from JMP desktop to JMP Live requires careful planning and adherence to best practices to ensure successful execution and robustness.

In this paper, we demonstrate – through practical examples – how to adapt JMP workflows for use in JMP Live, including:

• Modifying Workflow Builder scripts for successful execution in JMP Live.
• Adapting Query Builder-based data acquisition for scheduled runs.
• Avoiding common pitfalls and imiplementing best practices for deploying automated workflows to JMP Live.

We also show how database access costs can be reduced by importing a single “master” data table into JMP Live and redistributing it through linked data tables using automated refresh scripts. This approach minimizes redundant queries while improving performance and ensuring data consistency across analyses.

These examples provide practical guidance for JMP users looking to scale their automated analyses from individual use to enterprisewide collaboration.
