JMP offers a new platform under the DOE menu: Covering Array. Factor covering arrays are a powerful tool for designing test coverage for complicated systems with many interactions. You can use covering arrays to create optimal test cases and coverage, and minimize risk. Before designing your covering array, it is vital to know what factors are important and what kinds of interactions contain the most risks. This paper will discuss designing tests to take advantage of covering arrays to minimize your system’s risk level and maximize your chances of finding defects. We will also walk through an example of test design using covering arrays.
