While discussing exploratory data analysis as a precursor to predictive modeling, Peter Hersh explains that one can use the JMP Fit Y by X platform to fit polynomials up to a 6th degree polynomial. Graph Builder does not go beyond a cubic fit.
In Fit Y by X the steps are Analyze>Fit Y by X, which will run a Bivariate fit for the variables. From the red triangle in the Bivariate Fit window, select Fit Polynomial, and then choose the type of fit you desire.
