What is this position?

The Product Manager for JMP Pro is responsible for setting the direction and gathering requirements for JMP Pro as it fits into the JMP family of products. The JMP Pro Product Manager has solid knowledge of applied statistics, the statistical software market, and is able to translate complex analysis needs into technical requirements. Candidates will engage customers, prospects and others for market requirements and prioritization. The JMP Pro product manager will create product vision and roadmaps and will contribute to pricing, positioning and sales collateral development, as well as support product launch and rollout initiatives.

What are the essential qualifications for this job?

  • Master's degree, in statistics or related discipline
  • 8 or more years of experience working with statistical analysis software
  • Experience with JMP products and ability to articulate/translate feature requests into requirements and use cases
  • 3 or more years of experience in working with customers-internal or external
  • What additional qualifications are there?

    • Ability to map market requirements into product features
    • Ability to understand product features and describe associated customer value
    • Organizational skills for managing commitments, schedules, and deadlines
    • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
    • Strong communication skills to including the ability to translate technical information into simple language
    • Strong self-motivation for learning, identifying problems and solving them, and attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently
    • Ability to travel as business needs dictate (estimate of 30-40 percent)
