JMP Life Sciences at Joint Statistical Meetings 2012
Jun 20, 2012 3:14 PM
With more than 6,000 attendees, the Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM) is the largest gathering of statisticians held in North America. This year, the event takes place from July 28 to Aug. 2 in San Diego, California.
Developers from JMP Life Sciences will be on hand at the JMP booth in the Exhibit Hall to provide demos for the new releases of JMP Genomics and JMP Clinical. There are a lot of new features and improvements in our new releases (which are both built on the new JMP 10 platform), so please stop by to talk to us!
This year, Russ Wolfinger and I will present a Computer Technology Workshop from 8:00 – 9:45 am on Aug. 1 titled “Predictive Modeling in the Life Sciences.” In this hands-on workshop, we will introduce the predictive modeling features available in both JMP Clinical and JMP Genomics, and discuss common analysis pitfalls when working with data from life science domains.
Further, we’ll describe techniques for reducing the predictor space, demonstrate tools for comparing a large pool of potential models to find the best ones for a given data set, and discuss drill-down actions for determining the usefulness of a particular predictive model. Be sure to register for this informative workshop!
