If You Missed JMP at the Six Sigma Summit, You Don’t Know Jack!
The JMP team recently attended the IQPC Lean Six Sigma and Process Improvement Summit at Walt Disney World as one of the key sponsors of the event. Aside from the motion sickness from too much fun on the theme park rides with Mickey, the event had outstanding attendance and numerous dynamic speakers.
Of special note, JMP sponsored a book signing by Jack Welch himself as he visited with JMP representatives Jeff Perkinson, Don Gregory, Bob Lamphier, Lou Valente and me. As you might expect, the traffic jams were heavy at the JMP booth, with hundreds of excited attendees eager to meet Jack. His enthusiasm was contagious as he graciously greeted visitors and shared anecdotes.
Special thanks go out to Tom Lange of Procter & Gamble, who, on the behalf of JMP, shared an innovative project recently completed at P&G. He discussed interesting dynamics relative to project selection and showed how world-class improvement was achieved in part through the use of many unique JMP analysis features. These included reliability analysis, modeling and process simulation techniques.
Also, Joe Ficalora, Vice President of SBTI and a close partner of JMP, presented a compelling study of the most effective and proven techniques needed to roll out Six Sigma initiatives across a global organization. Companies have to factor in many considerations to deal with the diverse cultural and language challenges.
All in all, the summit proved to be a “must attend” event because the knowledge-sharing benefits were many and perfect for those looking to improve upon their current Six Sigma efforts or for those looking to start their journey “Right the First Time.”
