Grow JMP skills with live and on-demand webcasts

Each quarter, JMP systems engineers present 11 Mastering JMP live webcasts, which are intended to help users develop and expand their JMP skills. Some webcasts are available as on-demand videos now. We'll roll out the others after the upcoming live events take place.

Did you miss one of the live webcasts? Register for the next session on that topic or view the on-demand video.

You may want to practice what you saw in a webcast. Follow the steps using JMP while you are watching the videos. Often, the presenters use files from JMP sample data. Sometimes, they use files posted in the JMP File Exchange.

You must register to view the videos. Here's a hint: After you register, bookmark the page from which you launched the videos so that you can come back to the link as often as you like and view those videos without registering again.

We just posted videos from two recent webcasts:

  • Analyzing Product Quality and Reliability
  • Making JMP Your Analytic Hub
  • If you want to practice, here are two scripts for using the JMP interface to R, which Chris Kirchberg demonstrated in his Analytic Hub webcast. Chris shared his answers to two common questions he gets about the R interface.

Q: How do I call the R debugger from JMP/JSL?

A: R debugger {utils} are accessible from R Submit JSL function.

Q: How do I view the R log window from within JMP/JSL? Can I make a call to it and open within JMP or as the R log window?

A: There is no need to call the R log window. Anything that gets written to the R log will show up in the JMP log.

Q: Can JMP pass categorical and continuous model types to R?

A: Yes the categorical/continuous formats of variables are automatically passed correctly between JMP and R.
