Histograms in JMP

Histograms for the distribution of corona infections have been enriching our daily viewing habits for a year. Time to do some basic thinking. Most histogram displays are similar to what you see on television, with all bars the same width. However, this is only a special case of this distribution view, for which there are good reasons. Histograms are always an equal-area representation of the frequencies of a range, which warrants closer inspection when the bases of the bars are different. Follow me for a little look at histograms including – of course – the introduction of an addin that allows the creation of histograms with different bar widths.
