sampling data from the scatter plot graph

I remember there is a way that I can circle some data spots in the scatter plot graph and then get their information in the data table. Anyone know this?

The "lasso" tool can do that. Just choose the lasso from the tool bar or the Tools menu.

To quickly find your selected data in a large table pick "Next Selected" from the Rows menu (there used to be a keyboard shortcut for this, but it is gone since version 5 I think (Mac)).

Alternatively, if you want a better overview of your selected data choose "Subset" from the Tables menu, which let you create a new table with only the rows selected.
Thanks a lot MS!
