       Can you kindly post your exact code and error ?  I just testing the following and it works as expected in JMP 14 

FileFilter = Pick File("Select File","$Documents",{"All Files|*"});

What are you intending to do with the "Bi*.jmp"?  Are you trying to use a regular expression there?  If so, I'm not sure that's a current capability.

 

If all you want for "JMP Files" is the .jmp extension, then just use {"JMP Files|jmp", "All Files|*"}

I am trying to narrow the search range by putting a partial file names like 'B*.jmp',  in order to let the window only showing the file names staring with letter "B" or something else..

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think that is possible in Pick File().  The only thing that argument does is filter file extensions.
