Wilcoxon Sign Rank (Variance)

Hi All,

I am working through the Wilcoxon Sign Rank right now. I am trying to confirm my own math is right against JMP. However, I was taught the calculations to exclude 0's and use a different formula/method JMP uses. I can't check my end result against JMP because my end calculation is a Z score not a t score. I understand how to get S but I am confused by the formula for variance. Can someone please explain to me what the last part of the formula is? I am confused by the part: -1/2 ∑di(di+1)(di-1).  I attached my data set but  my values are N = 76 (w/0's), do=11. R+ = 1572, S = 581.

Thank you!
