Hi all,

I'm trying to open the data table http://www.google.com/finance/historical?output=csv&q=INTC using the following script,

dt = Open("http://www.google.com/finance/historical?output=csv&q=INTC", HTML Table());

When I run the script, I get the error message; however when I run it using file >> Internet Open, it opens with no issues. Is there a way to resolve this?

Solution

use this

dt = open("http://www.google.com/finance/historical?output=csv&q=INTC","text");

the file you get from google finance is actually a csv (comma separated values) file. JMP's open function handles various text files, including csv, as "text", but needs to be told because there is no extension on the file.
