Scope of Local Data Filter for

I have some code that is building a variability chart for a few different properties, and I wanted a local data filter that worked for all of them together, but I realized that hte scope of the local data filter is just down to each property, as opposed to the full page.

Is there a way in the code to change the scope within the given report?  Or will I have to do something with a Global Data filter instead?

Re: Scope of Local Data Filter for

If I am interpreting your use of the term "property" correctly, there currently has to be a separate Local Data Filter for each one. However, it is a very simple matter to go to
Rows==>Data Filter
and create a global filter, which will control all.

Re: Scope of Local Data Filter for

Thanks much. I wasn't sure if it was some simple trick in the code to change the scope, I'll start working the Global Data Filter route.

Re: Scope of Local Data Filter for

You can use a Data Filter Context Box to define the context for the data filter.

Here's an example from the documentation.

dt = Open( "$SAMPLE_DATA/Big Class.jmp" );
New Window( "Shared Local Filter",
	Data Filter Context Box(
		H List Box(
			dt << Data Filter( Local ),
			Platform(
				dt,
				Bubble Plot( X( :weight ), Y( :height ), Sizes( :age ) )
			),
			Platform(
				dt,
				Bubble Plot( X( :weight ), Y( :age ), Sizes( :height ) )
			)
		)
	)
);
