Rows Data Filter from the main menu unhides rows already excluded/hidden.

Rows Data Filter from the main menu unhides rows already excluded/hidden. Hidden/excluded row states won't necessarily persist after applying the Data Filter. Is this the expected behavior? I am using JMP 12. In this case I have to delete the hidden/excluded rows before using Data Filter to ensure those rows won't show up in the results.

The data filter under Rows==>Data Filter is a global data filter, and yes the behavior you are describing is the expected behavior.  However, if you use a Local Data Filter, the Excluded and Hidden rows remain Hidden and Excluded, while you use the local filter.

Jim,

Thank you for your solution. So if I want to look at the data in different

ways, it may be easier to generate a subset table with the excluded rows

deleted before applying the Data Filter. Otherwise I have to re-create the

Local Data Filter for each separate analysis on the same data.
